What is the Limi valley?

By Base Camp Tours, licensed Nepal travel agency (Tourism License 3121/080) · Updated · 1 min read

The short answer

Limi is a hidden high valley in upper Humla, near the Tibet border, with villages set between roughly 3,500 and 5,300 metres. It is often called a hidden Shangri-La for its stark landscape and strong Tibetan Buddhist culture, with monasteries, prayer walls and traditional houses.

It is a demanding trek for people with time and good fitness, and it needs permits and a licensed agency. Wildlife such as snow leopards and blue sheep live in the area, but sightings are rare. Plan carefully, and keep to the trail rules.
