The short answer
Pokhara has a lively events calendar. A paragliding championship gathers pilots from many countries around January. The Phewa New Year festival falls in mid-April near Nepali New Year, with games and local entertainment. A street festival lets restaurants bring food and shows onto the road, and a food festival has been held around Dashain and Tihar.
In the rice-planting season, the Ashar paddy festival shows traditional ploughs, oxen and women in bright saris planting fields. World Tourism Day on 27 September is also marked in the city. Dates move, so check with the Pokhara tourism office before planning around one.
