The short answer
Pumori rises above Gorak Shep and is sometimes called the daughter peak of Everest. It is a steep expedition peak with difficult ice and rock sections, often used by climbers building experience for bigger mountains.
Kala Patthar, a popular viewpoint on the Base Camp trek, gives a spectacular view of Pumori across the glacier.
