The short answer
Jalbire lies on the Araniko Highway north of Kathmandu, on the way to the Bhote Koshi gorge and the Tibet border. The roadside waterfall here drops beside the road and is a quick stop for photos before the bungee and canyoning area further on.
It works as a short break on an adventure day. Do not expect a long hike: the appeal is the contrast between the dusty highway and the cool spray, plus nearby tea stalls and views down the valley.
