What should I see in Lhasa?

By Base Camp Tours, licensed Nepal travel agency (Tourism License 3121/080) · Updated · 1 min read

The short answer

Lhasa is about 3,650 metres high and holds the great sights of Tibetan Buddhism: the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple with the Barkhor circuit around it, Norbulingka summer palace, and the large monasteries of Drepung and Sera. Entry to some sites is limited, so tickets and timed slots are arranged by your guide.

Spend the first day resting and walking slowly. The altitude is the main challenge, not distance.
