The short answer
Spring (March to May) is for rhododendron blooms, warm valleys and busy trails. Monsoon (June to September) is for green terraces, full waterfalls and quiet hills, though mountain views are poor. Autumn (October to November) is the clearest, with festivals and the best views. Winter (December to February) gives crisp skies, snow on the heights and a calm Kathmandu valley.
Pick the season for the thing you want most. If it is mountain views, choose autumn. If it is flowers, spring. If it is waterfalls and green hills, July to September. If it is snow, winter and a high place.
