The short answer
The Gurung Heritage Trail links traditional Gurung villages on the southern slopes of the Annapurna range. It starts near Khudi in Lamjung, climbs to Ghalegaun and Ghanpokhara, which sit at roughly 2,100 to 2,200 metres, and continues through villages such as Bhujung, Pasgaun and Pakhrikot before ending near Pokhara. It can also be walked in the opposite direction from Pokhara.
Community homestays offer meals and a bed, and villagers perform dances and songs for guests on request. The Himalaya can be seen from many of the houses on a clear day. Allow at least three to five days, keep a spare day for weather, and ask your guide about the best time of year to see the mountains.
