Where can I get medicines and medical help?

By Base Camp Tours, licensed Nepal travel agency (Tourism License 3121/080) · Updated · 1 min read

The short answer

Kathmandu and Pokhara have many pharmacies, hospitals and clinics, including clinics that specialise in travellers' health. Small pharmacies in towns stock common medicines, but remote areas have very limited supplies. Carry your regular prescriptions with the generic names.

For altitude, ask a doctor before departure. Keep a basic first-aid kit, rehydration salts and any personal medicines. Have insurance that covers evacuation.
