What can I rent in Nepal and what should I check?

By Base Camp Tours, licensed Nepal travel agency (Tourism License 3121/080) · Updated · 1 min read

The short answer

You can rent trekking gear in Thamel and Lakeside, bicycles and motorbikes in tourist areas and cars with drivers from agencies and hotels. Self-drive car rental is uncommon and not advised on mountain roads for first-timers.

Check condition, ask about insurance and deposit, and read the terms. For motorbikes, make sure you hold a valid licence and helmet and read the local rules.
