The short answer
Beyond paragliding, Pokhara offers ultralight flights over the lakes and mountains, hot-air balloon rides in some seasons, and scenic helicopter flights. Ultralights usually run from September to June and pause in the rain-heavy months of July and August.
There is also golf, with an 18-hole course east of Lakeside and a smaller course at a resort, plus a driving range for beginners. Book flying activities for early morning, when winds are calm, and have a backup day in case of weather.

Flying over the lakes and mountains
Ultralight aircraft fly low and give a bird's-eye view of the lakes, the town and the Annapurna range. Balloon rides, offered in some seasons, drift quietly in morning air. Scenic helicopter flights give a wider look at the mountains.
These activities depend on weather and wind. Mornings are best, and cloud can cause delays or cancellations.
Planning and safety
Book early in your stay and keep a spare day. Ask about the operator's safety record, pilot experience, insurance and weather rules, and follow the briefing carefully.
If you prefer a calm activity, Pokhara also has golf, boating and lakeside walks. Choose what suits your comfort level and health.
Insider tip
Book flights for your first or second morning to keep a buffer.
Avoid this
Do not book a flight on your last day; weather delays are common.
