Where and how can I fly a drone in Nepal?

By Base Camp Tours, licensed Nepal travel agency (Tourism License 3121/080) · Updated · 1 min read

The short answer

Drone rules in Nepal are strict and they change, so check the current regulations before travel. In general, flying near airports, military areas, national parks, heritage sites and crowded events is restricted or needs permission. Importing a drone may also involve customs formalities.

The safest approach is to ask your tour operator or a local authority for the latest rules, carry the paperwork, and keep the drone in line of sight. If the rules are unclear for a site, do not fly. A well-planned photograph from the ground often does just as well.
