The short answer
The Manaslu Conservation Area lies in north-west Nepal around Mount Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain. The Budhi Gandaki river runs through it, and about seven villages with Gurung and Tibetan-influenced culture live here.
The Manaslu Circuit passes through it and needs special permits and a licensed guide. It is a good choice for people who want a remote but still lodge-supported trek with strong culture and big mountain views.
