Mugling Junction · Understand it

Should you sleep at Mugling or somewhere else?

The short answer

Mugling is a practical stop but not a nice place to sleep: it is loud, trucks idle all night and hotels are basic. Better choices within an hour or two are Bandipur (a preserved hill town), Chitwan (jungle lodges), Pokhara (lake and mountain views) or Gorkha.

If you must overnight at the junction, choose a hotel set back from the road and book ahead in festival months. Most travellers push on to a nicer base and keep Mugling for a meal.
