What is the Nar Phu valley trek?

By Base Camp Tours, licensed Nepal travel agency (Tourism License 3121/080) · Updated · 1 min read

The short answer

Nar Phu is a remote Tibetan-style valley north of the Annapurna Circuit near Manang, with ancient villages, monasteries and dramatic gorges. It needs a restricted-area permit in addition to Annapurna permits and is usually done as an extension to the circuit over about ten days. Nar Phu valley also connects to Himlung Himal.

It is a quieter, more cultural alternative to the main circuit, with higher altitude and simpler lodging.
