General Questions About Nepal · Planning

How far ahead should I book a Nepal trip?

By Base Camp Tours, licensed Nepal travel agency (Tourism License 3121/080) · Updated · 1 min read

The short answer

For autumn and spring, the busiest seasons, book popular trips, flights and hotels several months ahead. Treks to Everest and Annapurna, helicopter flights, and Kailash Mansarovar yatras need earlier planning because of limited seats and permits. Off-season trips can be arranged closer to the date.

Festival periods like Dashain and Tihar also fill up quickly. If your dates are fixed, contact a planner early, confirm what is included, and keep a written itinerary. Last-minute trips are sometimes possible, but choices are narrower.
