Can I take a cooking class or food tour?

By Base Camp Tours, licensed Nepal travel agency (Tourism License 3121/080) · Updated · 1 min read

The short answer

Yes. Kathmandu and Pokhara have classes where you learn momo, dal bhat and curries, often starting with a market visit. Food walks in the old city and Patan introduce street snacks and sweets with a guide. Some homestays also let you cook with the family.

Choose small groups, check hygiene and ask what is included. A morning class makes a good rest-day activity.
