The short answer
Terraced hills are common across the middle hills. The terraces around Pokhara, Kavre, Nuwakot, Bandipur, Gorkha and Ilam look their best when planted in monsoon, bright green in July and August, and golden before harvest in October and November. Mustard fields glow yellow in winter and early spring.
Walk through them on small trails, stay in a village to see the work and ask before stepping onto the fields. The terrace edges are narrow and can be slippery.
