The short answer
Winter brings very clear mornings and snow on the high ridges. Nagarkot, Dhulikhel, Sarangkot and Chandragiri all give crisp views with fewer crowds. Kalinchowk is the best-known place to actually stand in snow, and Mustang and Muktinath have snow but also road risks.
Daytime in the valleys is pleasant in sun, but nights are cold and heating is limited in many hotels. Ask about heaters, hot water and warm bedding.
