The short answer
To ask where something is, say "... kata chha?" in Nepali or "... kahan hai?" in Hindi. For turns: dayan (right), bayan (left), sidha (straight). To ask a driver to stop, say "yaha roknuhos" and Hindi "yahan rukiye". Add "tapai" respect and "kripaya" for politeness.
Before a taxi starts, agree the price: "kati parchha?" (how much will it cost?). Spellings are simple transliterations; sounds vary by region and speaker.
