The short answer
Seto Machindranath, also called Janabaha Dyo, is a temple in the old Jana Bahal area of Kathmandu that is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. The white-faced deity is the same figure many Newars honour as a compassionate protector, and the courtyard is busy with local worshippers and lamps.
Its big moment is the chariot procession in the month of Chaitra, when the image is pulled through the old streets over several days. Outside festival days, the temple is a short, easy stop near Indra Chowk and Asan, good for seeing everyday Newar devotion.
