The short answer
Trishuli Bazaar lies north-west of Kathmandu and is usually reached in about two to three hours by road, around 70 km depending on the route and traffic. The road climbs out of the valley, passes Nuwakot and descends to the Trishuli River. The same river gives the name to the popular rafting stretch lower down.
Many travellers combine Nuwakot, a hilltop historic fort, with a Trishuli lunch stop, then continue towards Dhunche and Langtang or return via the same road. In monsoon the road can be slow, so start early.
