The short answer

Devadaha is identified as the ancient capital of the Koliya kingdom, the maternal home of Queen Mayadevi, the Buddha's mother, and of Prajapati Gautami and Yasodhara. It lies east of Lumbini across the Rohini river. Prince Siddhartha is said to have spent part of his childhood there.

The site includes ponds, mounds and temples around the area. It is usually visited on a half-day trip, together with Ramagrama. Ask your guide to explain how the places connect to the Buddha's life.
