Chitwan National Park

Janakpur

Manakamana

Situated in the Gorkha district of Nepal, Manakamana Temple is a famous sacred place of the Hindu Goddess Bhagwati, an incarnation of Parvati. Biratnagar is located 399 km east of the capital, Kathmandu, serves as gateway to eastern Nepal as well as north-eastern India. Chitlang

Birgunj is a major business centre of Nepal, especially for trade with India, thus has significant economic importance for Nepal. Gateway to Nepal lies 135 kilometres south of the capital of Nepal & in the north to India State of Bihar. Birgunj also receives the goods coming in from the port of Kolkata. Lukla

Found in north-east Nepal, a small town at the height of 2,860 metres above the sea level, Lukla is a popular place for visitors to the Himalaya near Mt Everest to arrive. A tiny farming community, Lukla is now a large trekkers town, with a variety of accommodation options, many shops-providing western-style meals and trail supplies, and even a couple of internet cafes.
Lukla has gained rapid fame with the introduction of its airstrips, which has made easy access to Everest region. You may have heard dramatic news reports arguing that Lukla airport is dangerous, but did you hear the reports that named it the most spectacular flight you will ever experience? Thousands of people fly in and out of Lukla every year incident free. We can say it as a notorious airport, then more dangerous, as it has gained a reputation through its location than its incident rates.
The small airport serves a place for tourists who wish to visit the Himalayas. It takes just two days for trekkers to reach Namche Bazaar, which is an acclimatisation stop for those who are planning to continue further. Though the population of this small town is very less, it is populated with a number of trekkers each day. Thus called Base Camp of Trekking.
Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park

Located in the country’s mid-hills on the northern fringe of the Kathmandu Valley, where the rush of the urban world starts to vanish, and imaginary lines of the city get blurred, lies the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. It is named after the Shivpuri peak of 2,732 m (8,963 ft) altitude and was established in 2002. The park serves the best option for adventurous lovers, especially mountain bikers & trekkers. Tourists who love to walk on the path less travelled also should keep a day or two to visit here.
Trek through the wilderness of the park will take you in the dark green forest, whereas mountain biking makes the whole process much easier & faster. During mountain biking, you can enjoy the pines & cherry trees lining the roads & the cool mountain breeze, cooling you face. But in case of walking, you get to enjoy nature from a close region – noticing the different kinds of exotic trees that the park has to offer. The sprawling sub-tropical forest, spreading for around 160 square meters, is known for its collection of wild Indian cats – leopards and jungle cats. If you spend more time silently in the jungle, a vast variety of birds may join your party. On the whole, the park gives a serene and refreshing experience. In other words it rejuvenates your mind, body & soul from the harsh sounds of lifestyle even if for one day.
Panauti

Though long waiting in the queue of becoming a UNESCO site since in 1996, Panuti is one of the oldest towns in Nepal still feels untouched by time. Panauti, consisting of a variety of Buddhist and Hindu religious temples that are still present. Panauti is also steeped in culture and tradition, hence considered to be one of the area’s most important medieval sites. Located at the junction of the two rivers, Roshi Khola and Pungamati Khola, by default, qualifies as a site of holy pilgrimage. Including another, quite invisible stream called Lilawati, they form a trident near Panauti which is named as Triveni, where devotees take dips in this prayag to wash away all their sins of this lifetime. Indreshwar Temple stands tall and magnificent and is perhaps the most popular site in Panauti. In addition, Panauti is a photogenic place, where you can take a lot of good pictures.
Itahari

The city in itself is good enough to take a walk around and explore. A metro city designated in 2014 is not very old, just was established in 1997 in Sunsari District of Nepal. Being at the junction of the Mahendra Highway and the Koshi Highway, the town is a fast growing town and emerging importance. Thus become a traffic nerve center of Nepalese transportation. If you look more inside into the city, you will find it has more than just a city to pass-by and enjoy from your vehicle’s window or to stop only for meals. The city has much to offer. A few minutes walk from the city centre you will find a beautiful calm & quiet place that is Budhikhola Ghat. The serenity of the Ghat make up during the monsoon.You can enjoy the beauty of silent evening by sitting on the benches made near the Ghat. The place is beautifully decorated with the flower pots & small bushes alongside the walkway. A giant statue of Lord Shiva’s calm and composed posture catches your eyes.

Jomsom

Explore a tiny town that is definitely well worth the effort! Jomsom is a beautiful town at an altitude of 2800 meters, within Annapurna Conservation Area, and has many attractions to visit. Nestled in the lap of Mt. Dhaulagiri and the Mt. Nilgiri, the town straddling the Kali Gandaki River that freezes during winter and flows with rainwater and melting snow in summer and monsoon. The area around the Jomsom is a perfect place to find fossilized stones, known as Shaligram, are holy to Hindus and are believed to be found in the Kali Gandaki river that flows right through the center of town. Jomsom lies to the north of Pokhara in Mustang district, and also the main hub for onward travel to Upper Mustang and Muktinath. Jomsom is the starting point to the scenic trekking routes in Upper Mustang and Manang. Not too far from the town is the famous pilgrimage site for Budhhist and Hindus is Muktinath. Trek through Jomsom and Muktinath, walk through the unique terrain, taste Thakali food and observe their rich culture. Jomsom is best known for its airport that offers a quick entry or exit with regular daily flights from Pokhara. With the mesmerizing natural beauty, alpine desert-like landscape & a mix of Hindu- Budhhist culture Jomsom attracts the thousands of footfalls every year.
Kagbeni

Resembled like a painted picture on an artist’s canvas, Kagbeni is a village in the Upper Mustang of the Himalayas, in Nepal, located in the valley of the Kali Gandaki River. The fascinating and beautiful village of Kagbeni is the Gateway to Upper Mustang. Officially Kagbeni is a settlement that bridges the gap between Lower and Upper Mustang, right at the feet of Muktinath Valley. A trek to Muktinath is just three to four hours and one can choose this as a day trip from Kagbeni. Mount Manaslu

It is the eighth-highest mountain in the world at 8,163 metres above sea level in the west-central part of Nepal. The word Manaslu comes from the Sanskrit word manas, which means “soul”, thus it can be reflected as exactly that – the mountain of the soul. Despite all the confusing craze for mountain trekking that Nepal experiences, Manasalu has surprisingly known for its pristine, untouched beauty. Mt Manasalu promises for its amazing views of snow-covered mountains of Himalayas that always resides in the background. This city falls under the bigger umbrella of Bharatpur City and under the administrative jurisdiction of Chitwan in Nepal. Narayangarh is a popular part of Bharatpur for its strategic position in terms of cross-country traffic. Built in early 1980s and 420m long Narayani bridge is believed to be one of the paramount commercial lifeline of the country. The Narayani Bridge, as suggested by the name itself, crosses the Narayani river of Nepal. A few kilometres drive up northeast from town you will reach the beautiful place, Narayani River. Far from the jammed city, the confluence paints a very different framework in the lap of nature. Another place in the down south is the Bish Hazari Taal which translates to ‘20,000 lakes’. The lake is a resting ground for a variety of bird species forming a dreamland for enthusiastic birdwatchers.
Narayngarh is most popularly known as the gateway to the Chitwan National Park. If small riverside towns call you, an overnight stay at Narayangarh will not go in worthless at all.
Shashwat Dham

Burned out on ancient sites? Here presents a completely different, both in terms of ambience and philosophy practised in the establishment. Spread over 12 acres of land, Shashwat Dham is a very impressive temple compound. Located on the Mahendra Hwy 23km west of Narayangarh, an unmissable centrepiece is a temple of Lord Shiva Shree Ekambareshwar Mahadev. The temple is surrounded by the pond which has holy water from places such as Badrinath, Kedarnath, Haridwar, Muktinath and Pashupatinath. Shashwat Dham is the divine platform Amidst the scenic foothills of Dev Chuli. A destination must explore to discover ancient knowledge and inner peace. Apart from the temple, the Dham has the Vaidik Karmakanda Gurukul, Sri Sri Centre for Meditation and Yogic Sciences, a heritage store, an organic and pure vegetarian restaurant, manuscript resource centre, museum, spiritual souvenir store and organic farm.
Nuwakot

Floating somewhere between the 17th century ambience and 21st century facilities Nuwakot has a deserved reputation as one of Nepal’s best travel secrets. Located around 75 kilometers west of Kathmandu and Trishuli Bazaar in the southeast, the village draws many travellers who love to have a deep back walk in history. The Nuwakot Palace and its Durbar Square in itself are main attractions of the village. The delightful Nuwakot Durbar perched in the mid hills of central Nepal and still an unexplored gem, despite its historical and cultural importance. The road is winding up to the fortress is dusty and offers a eye-catching views of the valley. The fortress and its surroundings are not only the matter of interest but being close to Langtang Himal, it offers an opportunity for hikers, trekkers and mountain bikers. Hike of an hour from bustling Trishuli Bazaar down hills is adventurous for many trekkers. The village has many options for lodging and modest food to fill up your needs. View of Trishuli river are also quiet scenic and captivating that makes it turns into a garing sport for river rafting.
Bandipur

You can recharge spirit here in Bandipur. No wonder to say Bandipur to be one of the most beautiful places in Nepal.Why? take a tea break, relax, breath deeply and find out. Frankly speaking, it is a traveler’s dream, it’s the right place after trekking in Nepal. Bandipur is a hilltop settlement with its old-age flavor still intact. You just need to climb high through the historical forest trail of town to witness the rich hill culture and amazing mountain views. Because of its preserved, old time cultural atmosphere, Bandipur has increasingly been coming to the attention of tourism. Apart from all these, there are some places worth seeing in Bandipur is Siddha Gufa Cave, 1.5 hours trek away from the northern end through a muddy and exciting road for those who love adventure. Bharatpur

Bharatpur is one of the fastest-growing cities in Nepal. It lies on the left bank of Narayani River and serves as a commercial centre of Chitwan district and central region of Nepal. Many tourists visit Nepal for the attraction of the wilderness of Chitwan National Park. Bharatpur city rightly falls in the gateway of the forest area. The park is famous for one-horned rhinos, elephants, Royal Bengal tigers and many other wild mammals. Bish Hazari Taal,translates to ‘20,000 lakes’ serves a resting ground for a variety of bird species. Although there are not many places of interest around Bharatpur, the proximity of the town to Chitwan, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Birgunj has increased the importance of its advantageous geographical location. In addition, daily flight services to Kathmandu and Pokhara are run from its very own airport. Bharatpur offers the best option for weekend trips where you can walk around the streets finding out new places to shop, food or enjoying evening with your friends and loved ones by the river Narayani.
Daman

Unlike other cities, Daman is one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Nepal. The greatest view of Himalayas, extending from Dhaulagiri in the west to Mt. Everest in the east can be seen from Daman on a clear day. The natural beauty of Daman is charming enough to draw many tourists from all over the world. The village lies on the outskirts of Kathmandu, providing a great opportunity to reside & observe its beauty used as means of recreation. There is a religious site near Risheshor Mahadev Temple. The road leading up to the Risheshor Mahadev Temple is even more interesting. This old fashion town offers many exciting things to do. Mountain Botanical Gardens is a must-see place which is beautifully maintained. During spring time the botanical garden gets decorated with wonderful red blossoms. Climb just for a short distance of about 1 kilometre on a trail covered with dense green woods, there are multiple hiking routes already waiting for you. Located at 77 Km from Kathmandu, the place is the best to take a break from busy life and soak in the beauty of the mountain.
Gorkha

Gorkha is a town in Gorkha District in Gandaki Pradesh of Nepal. It is located on a hill overlooking the Himalayas. The town’s famous attractions are, the old royal palace (Gorkha Durbar), Gorakhnath and Kalika (temple of the goddess Kali). Gorkha is also famous for its shrine of Gorakhnath, a patron saint of the region. The historic Gorkha Durbar is well reserved and serves as the major tourist destination, is the original palace of the Shah dynasty. Rest on the hilltop o, he palace also commands a wide view of surroundings. On enjoying the sights of the historic remains of the old dynasty and culture of the natives, many trekkers start the great Manaslu trek and Mount Ganesh Trek from Gorkha town. A six hour drive from Kathmandu, the town welcomes tourists with a number of decent hotels and resorts.
Pathibhara Temple

Located on top of the Taplejung hills in Taplejung district at an altitude of 3794m, the temple is one of the most significant temples in Nepal. Many people from other parts of Nepal as well as from India visit Pathivara Devi temple. It is believed that Pathibhara Devi has supernatural powers and she always fulfils the dreams and wishes, however, there is belief that if the journey is too easy, the blessings may not be granted. Pilgrimage also offers an opportunity to visit the entire Kanchenjunga range and the waterfalls at Sawa Pokhari and the pond of Timbuk. The pilgrimage also serves the side route of the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek. The best time to visit this holy place is from March to June and from September to November
Ilam

Situated in the far east of Nepal, 90km from the border at Kakarbhitta, Ilam, one of the richest districts in Nepal in terms of cultural diversity, natural landscape, and a flourishing cash crop industry. Being the largest producer region for Nepali tea and an excellent getaway from city life, Ilam’s tea farms comprise a major tourist attraction. A brisk walk in a tea garden offer a picnic of peaceful setting and sightseeing stops in the city. You can enjoy more a short hikes along the gentle hills in the greenery of Ilam. The city is largely covered with tea bushes enjoying views of amazing landscapes made up sloping tea garden, mountain streams, dense natural forests, holy sites and a unique culture. Ilam Bazar forms a base you can take excursion for a day or more. The city has may hotels and few resorts to welcome the tourists. Visit between October to december or From February to April can be the best to experience all the charm of the little town.
Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

An added bonus is branching off to the nearby Sapt Kosi River, situated a unique wildlife reserve called Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. Welcoming nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts since 1993, the park is in the eastern corner of Nepal. Koshi Tappu was originally established to protect the last remaining population of Asiatic wild buffalos in Nepal, but the variety of birds here being the major attraction of the Park. It is also called a bird’s paradise too as it has some 493 species of birds. Apart from all this it is only reserve that makes your trip nothing short of incredible. The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve can be easily reached from Biratnagar, Nepal and best from October through March.
