Overview

This package offers a quick trip into the mountains to see Everest Base Camp by helicopter with an overnight stay in Lukla (2860m). One of our team will pick you up from your hotel in Kathmandu for an early morning flight to Lukla from where you will take a helicopter to Everest View Hotel above Namche. Given the high elevation at Everest Base Camp the helicopter can only carry two passengers at a time. Everest View Hotel offers amazing views of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. You will have time to take coffee or tea on the patio and soak in the mountain views. The trip continues by helicopter to Kala Patthar (5164m) which is a small peak several kilometers from Everest Base Camp where you will have a chance to get out of the helicopter for about 10 mins and take pictures of Mount Everest, Pumori and the Khumbu glacier. Taking off from Kala Patthar the helicopter will circle Everest Base Camp and you can get some great views of the Khumbu IceFall coming off of Mount Everest. After circling Base Camp you will fly down the canyon of the Dudh Kosi River back to Lukla. Take lunch and enjoy an afternoon hike in the mountains before staying the night at the tea house. The trip ends the following morning with your flight back to Kathmandu.

Full Itinerary

Day 1 - Kathmandu to Everest Base Camp to Lukla

Morning: Our team will come pick you up at your hotel for the flight to Lukla. When the helicopter is ready you will fly from Lukla to the Everest View Hotel where you can get out and enjoy the amazing views of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam and have a snack or tea/coffee at the hotel. When the helicopter is ready you will fly to Kala Patthar (5164m) which is a small peak several kilometers from Everest Base Camp where you will have a chance to get out of the helicopter for about 10 mins and take pictures of Mount Everest, Pumori and the Khumbu glacier. Taking off from Kala Patthar the helicopter will circle Everest Base Camp and you can get some great views of the Khumbu IceFall coming off of Mount Everest.

Afternoon & Night: Take lunch and enjoy a guided hike of the villages around Lukla. Even here lower in the valley the mountain views are outstanding. Spend the night in the mountain Tea House.

Day 2 - Lukla to Kathmandu

Grab a quick breakfast before heading to the airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. We will drop you back to your hotel or to the international airport for your return flight.
