The short answer
This is one of the easiest hill walks from Pokhara, with a maximum height of only about 1,650 metres. A common plan starts at Phedi on the edge of the valley, climbs to Dhampus and Australian Camp, and ends at Sarangkot, the sunrise viewpoint above Pokhara. Along the way you pass terraced fields, forest patches and Gurung villages.
Two to four days is usual, and it can be done in one long day by strong walkers. It is a good first trek for people who are unsure about altitude or fitness, and a good way to add mountain views to a Pokhara stay. Mornings are clearest, so aim to be at a viewpoint before the haze builds.
