The short answer
The Bhote Koshi is the classic one-day adrenaline run near the Tibet road. The put-in is a few hours from Kathmandu along the Arniko highway, and the river is steep with Class III to IV rapids and short, bouncy sections between canyon walls. Rapid names such as Frog in a Blender have become part of rafting folklore.
It suits fit travellers who want a short, intense trip. Take-out is usually near Barabise or the Lamosanghu area, and some operators combine it with bungee or canyoning near the Last Resort side. Water levels can change quickly, so follow the guide's instructions. Raft only with a licensed operator that provides lifejackets, helmets, a trained guide and a safety briefing.
