The short answer
Sindhuli Gadhi is a hilltop fort site on the old route between the plains and Kathmandu, where in 1767 Nepali troops defeated an East India Company force that was marching towards the valley. The remains are modest, but the hill is symbolic, and a museum and monument tell the story.
It is a good stop on the Sindhuli road between Kathmandu and the eastern Terai, and a small detour for history lovers. Expect a quiet hilltop, limited facilities and a place that means more for the story than the stonework.
