The short answer
Chennai travellers usually fly, with a direct or connecting service to Kathmandu depending on the season, and take five to eight days for Kathmandu, Pokhara and a nature stop. Because the flight is long, many families prefer to keep the programme light: two nights in Kathmandu, two or three in Pokhara and a relaxed day or two to rest.
Chennai is also a strong source of pilgrims, who ask for Pashupatinath, Muktinath, Janakpur and Lumbini in a single circuit. If you speak mainly Tamil, ask the operator in advance whether a guide or coordinator who speaks your language is available for your dates, rather than assuming it.
