How should I carry my own medicines and prescriptions to Nepal?

By Base Camp Tours, licensed Nepal travel agency (Tourism License 3121/080) · Updated · 1 min read

The short answer

Keep your regular medicines in their original packaging in your hand luggage, with a note from your doctor listing the medicine names, including the generic name, and what they are for. Bring enough for the whole trip plus some spare, since the same brand may not be easy to find.

Keep prescriptions or the doctor's letter with your passport copy. Check the rules for carrying your medicine through airports and into Nepal if it is a controlled item, and ask your doctor or pharmacist if unsure. Split spare supplies between bags in case one is delayed.
