Where can I camp in Nepal?

By Base Camp Tours, licensed Nepal travel agency (Tourism License 3121/080) · Updated · 1 min read

The short answer

Camping in Nepal ranges from organised tented camps on trekking routes to riverside beaches on rafting trips and resort-style glamping near Kathmandu and Pokhara. On major trekking routes most travellers use teahouses, but camping treks exist in remote areas such as Manaslu, Dolpo and Kanchenjunga, where lodges are few.

Near the cities, riverside camps on the Trishuli and Seti, lakeside camps by Begnas and forest sites around Nagarkot or Shivapuri offer easy overnight options. In national parks and conservation areas, camp only in permitted places and with proper permissions.
