The short answer
The main railheads for Nepal are Gorakhpur and Nautanwa for Sunauli, Raxaul for Birgunj, Jaynagar for Kurtha and Janakpur, Jogbani for Biratnagar, and NJP and Siliguri for Kakarbhitta. Nanpara and nearby towns serve the Rupaidiha side. Each is the last big stop before a road leg into Nepal.
Check which trains actually stop at each station, since some express services skip smaller stops. Book rail early, and plan the road transfer in advance.
